Shore & Rock Fishing

You’ll find prime rock fishing spots dotted along the Ring of Kerry coastline, especially from Renard Point to Valentia Harbour. Expect pollock, wrasse, mackerel, and conger eel. Local anglers favour spots like O’Connell’s Marina and Reenard Pier for consistent bites.

Sea Angling Charters

Head out into the bay with experienced local skippers. Cahersiveen-based boats like The Clare Emma and Fleur de Lis offer half-day or full-day charters for deep-sea fishing. Expect to catch ling, cod, and even blue shark in summer. Most boats leave from the marina or nearby Renard Point.

👉 Booking tip: It’s best to reserve your charter in advance during peak season (June–August). Ask reception at Kerry Coast Hotel to help with bookings, or contact Cahersiveen Sea Angling Centre directly.

Lough Currane &
Salmon Fishing

Just 15 minutes away in Waterville, Lough Currane is world-famous for its spring salmon and sea trout. Day permits can be purchased locally at Butlers in Waterville village. You can fish from the shore or hire a ghillie and boat for the day — ideal if you're chasing larger trout.

Licenses & Equipment

You’ll need a state licence for salmon or sea trout fishing. These are available online via fishinginireland.info, or from approved local shops. Bait and tackle are available in Cahersiveen at shops like Quirkes or in Waterville.
