View from the Beentee Loop Walk, overlooking Cahersiveen and Valentia Harbour. A short climb with rich rewards.

Beentee Loop Walk

Just above Cahersiveen town, this rewarding circular trail offers sweeping views over Valentia Harbour, the Iveragh Peninsula, and the Skelligs. The route winds through bogland and hills, and on a clear day, you can see all the way to Dingle Bay.
 

Distance: Approx. 10 km loop
Perfect for: Hillwalkers, scenic photography, moderate-level hikes

 

Bray Head Loop Walk (Valentia Island)

A rugged coastal walk to a historic signal tower, with spectacular views across to Skellig Michael from Valentia Island. The trail follows grassy paths and a cliffside ridge before looping back to the car park near Bray Head (V23 W729).
 

Distance: Approx. 4 km loop
Perfect for: Short hikes, dramatic sea views, Skellig selfies

Bray Head Loop offers soaring clifftop views over the Atlantic and Skelligs—an unforgettable hike on Valentia Island.

Cnoc na dTobar Pilgrim Path


One of Ireland’s ancient pilgrimage trails, this steep but spiritual route takes you to a summit topped with a large cross—and panoramic views across the Wild Atlantic. A series of Stations of the Cross line the trail, echoing its long-standing heritage.
 

Distance: Approx. 7.5 km out and back
Perfect for: More serious hikers, spiritual walks, sunrise climbs

Follow in ancient footsteps up Cnoc na dTobar, a sacred trail with sweeping views over South Kerry and the Atlantic.

Tips for Walkers

  • Bring good footwear — some trails can be wet or uneven

  • Always check the weather before heading to higher elevations
